Mobile phones

In Coimbra there are 3 main mobile phone companies providing 3 offers for students: MEO - Moche, NOS - WTF and Vodafone - Yorn. In here we will present you the real prices, rules and problems with each of them.

  

     1)   Moche

We have to be honest with you – we have never used this one. We only have information gathered from friends. Reportedly it is ok. For the first month you have free 10 GB of internet. Later you pay 1,80€/week and you have 500MB of internet, SMS free for everybody and you pay around 0,25€/minute. You can also choose more expensive offers with more internet.

      2)   Yorn

That was our first mobile phone. For the first week you have everything free. Later you pay 1,80€/week and you have 200MB of internet, calls free to Vodafone, to others around 0,25€/minute. SMS free for everybody. You can also choose more expensive offers with more internet.

     3)   WTF

This one we had for the past 6 months. You pay 7,80€/month and you have 500MB of internet, free apps such as Skype, Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, Snapchat, SMS free for everybody and 500 minutes to everybody. You can also choose more expensive offers with more internet. It is only for people under 25 years-old.

     4)   Which one to choose

We can honestly and truly say – CHOOSE WTF! With Vodafone we had huge problems, they were taking money from our account without any reason, the customer service was not useful at all – just we were irritated all the time. Then we have changed to WTF – and everything has been going smoothly and well.

     5)   Tip

Remember – your account will be valid 1 month or week (depends on company) from YOUR FIRST CHARGE! So even if you will be late with recharging – it will always count only the date of first charge.

For example for the first time you have charged on 9^th January, then you forgot and next you will charge on 18^th February -  it will still be valid only until 9^th March.
